A Quick Update on Pricing

Starting today, the annual subscription for Spelling Test Buddy Standard Plan is $49.99 per year, and $499.99 for the School Plan. I wanted to write a short note explaining why, since I know any price change matters to the teachers and families who count on the tool. The price increase will take effect the next time your annual renewal is due.

Why the Change?

The honest answer is that AI and infrastructure costs have gone up significantly. The AI models that power features like definition generation, sentence creation, and reading passages keep getting better, but they also keep getting more expensive to run. On top of that, server and storage costs have risen, and the old price was no longer sustainable.

This adjustment lets me keep the lights on, keep response times fast, and keep investing in the tools you use every week.

What’s Next

I’m continuing to build new features and improvements alongside teachers, and the mission hasn’t changed: help educators give better spelling, reading, and writing practice while spending less time on prep.
